Recently completed at the Florida Maritime Museum at Cortez, this reproduction of a Spainish Longboat used by explorers in the 1500s is now on display at the DeSoto National Memorial Park.  

The annual Cortez Natives Picnic will be held Saturday April 23, 2011 (at noon) on the grounds of the Florida Maritime Museum at Cortez.  Paper products, drinks and strawberry shortcake will be provided. Bring food to share.
